AR Software Used to Build School Fab Lab at St. Joseph High School

The Principal of St. Joseph High School, Caroline Latham, credits adding a School Fab Lab Makerspace to the Brooklyn all-girls school to be one of the most beneficial steps to reaching their STEAM teaching goals – and she found it to be easy. School Fab Lab “helped us envision what the space could look like using a virtual reality and augmented reality type of software,” said Principal Latham. The AR software was key in efficiently redesigning their library space into their high-tech Makerspace.

Caroline Latham“It was actually surprisingly easy for me,” commented Principal Latham to Nader Shaterian, School Fab Lab co-founder, “easier than I thought it was going to be. And I think School Fab Lab really assisted in that because you provided such wonderful professional development.”

School Fab Lab supplied the full curriculum plan and training: “Teachers could learn at their own pace then bring it into their classrooms as they felt comfortable.”

Principal Latham explains her experience co-creating their School Fab Lab Makerspace in this interview video.

An iPad with the SFL AR App already loaded on it is being provided by School Fab Lab to educators who’d like to envision adding a Makerspace to their school. Tell School Fab Lab you’re interested, schedule a Consultation here.
