AR Software Used to Build School Fab Lab at St. Joseph High School
The Principal of St. Joseph High School, Caroline Latham, credits adding a School Fab Lab Makerspace to the Brooklyn all-girls school to be one of the most beneficial steps to reaching their STEAM teaching goals – and she found it to be easy. School Fab Lab “helped us envision what the space could look like using a virtual reality and augmented reality type of software,” said Principal Latham. The AR software was key in efficiently redesigning their library space into their high-tech Makerspace.
“It was actually surprisingly easy for me,” commented Principal Latham to Nader Shaterian, School Fab Lab co-founder, “easier than I thought it was going to be. And I think School Fab Lab really assisted in that because you provided such wonderful professional development.”
School Fab Lab supplied the full curriculum plan and training: “Teachers could learn at their own pace then bring it into their classrooms as they felt comfortable.”
Principal Latham explains her experience co-creating their School Fab Lab Makerspace in this interview video.
